Our Huge Goal: Bring clean water to 620 people in relying on contaminated water sources in subsaharan Africa.
Support Greener Lent's parnership with Cross Catholic's "Water for Life" project. We will permanently improve the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ living in remote villages of subsaharan Africa who are suffering from water-born illnesses and poverty.
“The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.”
Our Sacrificial Alms Goal — $13,000
($325/day for 40 days)
Every Plant-based eating day honors God’s creation and saves (a little) of your “green” too. Return that to the Lord as a sign of repentance, love and desire to follow him. According to a study in the Journal of Hunger & Environmental Nutrition, eating plant-based saves about $750 annually, which is about $82.19 for the 40 days of Lent. That isn’t a lot, as meat is produced cheaply with industrialized farming methods that keep prices relatively cheap, but carry a high environmental cost (especially beef and lamb). However, unless you are substituting meat with pricey plant-based burgers or expensive imported raspberries, this savings over 40 days can be a gift to the poor. Please consider combining your savings with an additional sacrificial gift to the Greener Lent Cross Catholic Outreach Water for Life Campaign. Together, our community can make a big difference this lent.
Our faith requires action and our Greener Lent community can make an impact.

““If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.””
